live and work in Brussels & Paris
hi! my name is thomas. i am an engineer, photographer, poet and performer.
like you, i am the living breathing image of myself, a fact i am forever failing to remember. the art that i make attempts to celebrate this mystery.
a trained industrial engineer i turned to photography in my late twenties and worked as studio manager to Nan Goldin in Paris for 3 years before moving to Brussels to complete an MFA in Photography at La Cambre School of Visual Arts. this is where i began developing performative works using spoken word and dance as a way of relating to and questioning photography in the era of smartphones and social media. a recipient of the 2017 DanceWEB scholarship at ImpulsTanz festival of contemporary dance (Vienna), i have been working as a performer in various collaborative ventures (Lili Reynaud-Dewar, Cie Mossoux-Bonté, Doris Uhlich...) while performing my own work at KaaiStudio’s, ISELP, La Centrale in Brussels (BE) and at Float Gallery in Athens (GR) and the Sao Paulo Biennial (BR).
i also hold my own weekly movement improvisation sessions in Brussels called "the dance" and continue to work as a freelance portrait photographer.
