live and work in Brussels & Paris
hi! my name is thomas. i am a photographer, visual artist, poet and performer.
a trained industrial engineer i turned to photography in my late twenties and worked as studio manager to Nan Goldin in Paris for 3 years before moving to Brussels to complete an MFA in Photography at La Cambre School of Visual Arts. this is where i began developing performative works using spoken word and dance as a way of relating to and questioning photography in the era of smartphones and social media. a recipient of the 2017 DanceWEB scholarship at ImpulsTanz festival of contemporary dance (Vienna), i have been working as a performer in various collaborative ventures (Cie Mossoux-Bonté, Lili Reynaud-Dewar, Doris Uhlich...) while performing my own work at KaaiStudio’s, ISELP, La Centrale in Brussels (BE), at Float Gallery in Athens (GR) and the 2018 Sao Paulo Bienal (BR).
i also hold my own weekly movement improvisation sessions in Brussels called "the dance", contribute essays to theatre magazine Alternatives Théâtrales and continue to work as a freelance consultant and writer for Paris-based sustainability think tank Utopies.
