On the occasion of Je suis là, a group show on the history of self-representation, Thomas Dupal recreated HYPERSCULPTURE (2021), a solo performance exploring the construction and amplification of dystopian masculine identities on social media.

At its centre, a sculptural object conceived as a modernist man-maxxing module, in echo to the exhibition space — a former furniture wholesale company — designed to achieve ascension, the stated goal of looksmaxxing, an emerging current within the manosphere driving men toward unrealistic beauty ideals defined by pseudo-scientific criteria and social media metrics.
